Washing advice
Here's how to take care of your printed t-shirts and sweaters: Washing advice from Sverigekompaniet
Taking care of your favorite garments is not only important for their appearance and fit, but also for the environment. For our printed t-shirts and sweaters, we recommend that you follow these simple washing tips to both preserve the quality of the garments, extend their lifespan and reduce your environmental impact.
1. Wash inside out
When it's time to wash your printed t-shirts and sweaters, be sure to turn them inside out before putting them in the washing machine. This helps protect the print from rubbing and wearing away during washing while reducing wear and tear on the fabric.
2. Use a gentle wash cycle
To reduce energy consumption and preserve both the print and the fabric of your garments, we recommend that you wash them on a gentle wash cycle. Choose an energy-efficient wash cycle that is suitable for printed garments.
3. Do not wash at too high a temperature
High temperatures can damage both fabric and print and also increase energy consumption. Follow the temperature advice inside the garment, but as a general rule no printed garments should be washed at a higher temperature than 40 degrees.
4. Avoid tumble dryers and drying cabinets
High temperature is clothes' biggest enemy. Tumble dryers and drying cabinets require a lot of energy and can also damage both the prints and the fabric fibers in your garments, so we recommend that you let them air dry instead, preferably hanging on a hanger. By choosing air drying, you reduce your environmental impact and extend the life of your garments.
5. Avoid ironing directly on the print
If you feel your printed garments need to be ironed, be sure not to iron directly on the print. In this way, you avoid damaging the print and extend the life of the garment while reducing energy consumption.
By following these simple washing tips, you can extend the life of your printed t-shirts and sweaters while reducing your environmental impact.
